We had the opportunity to meet Margarita "Rita" Grant, Philly fashion designer and owner of Pazzazz Chic and Sassi, a women's clothing line to talk about her fashion line and the hot looks for fall. 

 

Margarita “Rita” Grant, is a proud West Philadelphia native with over 28 years of experience working in various branches of the government.  In 2015, Rita entered a challenging season of her life which caused her to turn to her creative side as of way of coping and focusing more on what was positive in her life. With no formal training, she purchased her first sewing machine and some fabric to begin experimenting with designing clothing.  She initially began designing colorful scarves and found that it not only helped to give her the strength she needed to push through her difficult times, but she also found that she had a true passion and talent for fashion design. This launched Rita’s journey into becoming the fashionista that she is today.

One day, she wore a scarf that she designed to a church meeting and to her surprise, 18 people placed an order for a scarf by the end of the meeting. Rita’s inspiration comes from God and her desire to design unique clothing and out of that, Pazzazz Chic and Sassi was born.  The mission of Pazzazz Chic and Sassi is to uplift women by helping them look and feel good, while providing them with one-of-a-kind designs. Rita wants to inspire women to feel confident with who they are, with their bodies, and feel free while wearing her clothing. She loves to incorporate bold colors and unique shapes & patterns. Each outfit is an original, designed with flair and flow. 

The flowing and swinging design represents having control of every movement.

Since launching, her work has been featured in a variety of expos and fashion shows in Philadelphia. Rita has been invited to audition for Project Runway twice and she actually auditioned in 2016. In the fall of 2019, her work will be showcased in a new clothing store opening in Northern Liberties.

When you think of Pazzazz Chic and Sassi think about "glamour, stylishly fashionable, and living a free and bold life!"  Rita wants all women to know that you can pursue your dream at any age. So, take the limits off, be creative, and start the business you want.
