While some maybe boycotting the NFL, other football enthusiast are highly anticipating football season, which begins, September 5, 2019, so lets dive right in.....Let's talk Philadelphia Eagles football 2019-2020!
On paper, the Eagles 2019-2020 season looks like we are returning to The Super Bowl!! However, the Eagles have now played three pre-season games and we have, one win and three losses, during the pre-season. In the first pre-season game, vs the Tennessee Titans, the Eagles back-up quarterback, Sudfeld, suffered a hand injury early in the game giving the Eagles their first pre-season loss (10-27). During the second pre-season game, the third string quarterback, Kody Kessler, suffered a concussion after getting hit hard and had to leave the game. Now, we are working with the fourth string quarterback, Clayton Thorson, who gave the Eagles their only pre-season win vs the Jacksonville Jaguars (24-10). The Eagles now scrambling for available Quarterbacks has hired retired football player, Josh McCown. McCown is now the Eagles fifth Quaterback and comes to Philly with a good track record. McCown signed a one year, one million dollar deal. The Eagles is McCown’s eleventh NFL Team and this is his seventeenth season. Due to inclement weather in Philadelphia, McCown didn’t get the opportunity to complete the pre-season game on Thursday, August 22, 2019 vs the Baltimore Ravens, where the final score was Eagles (15) Baltimore (26).
While players have returned from injury, some players will be going on the I.R. list, which is unfortunate. Some players have also been released. Let me extend a huge Welcome Back to Carson Wentz, Corey Clement, DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy, and Jason Peters. The depth chart predicts the the Eagles will have a productive, winning season as long as the players are healthy. Fans are praying that the Eagles stay focused and healthy throughout this season, and the players that have injuries have a successful and speedy recovery. Are you ready for football? Let's get another Championship!
SHOUT OUT TO COREY CLEMENT!!!!!!!!
LET’S GO EAGLES!
THEY'RE PLAYING BASKETBALL
On paper, the Philadelphia 76’ers will be the team to beat coming out of the East. If the Summer League plays in Las Vegas has anything to say about it, I’m not too sure. The summer league team never advanced to play in the second round of play. The team made a few trades this season to acquire Al Herring and Trey Burke. Both are seasoned players who could immediately have a great impact for the team. Al will add depth down low in the paint, while Trey will open up the floor to free up Ben, to hit that jump shot he has been working on all summer. Ben must have a positive impact for the team early this season. He is now worth $242 MILLION DOLLARS, for a five year maximum extension contract. So, EARN YOUR KEEP BEN!!!!!!

Now, let's discuss the Basketball Tournament, which is a College Alumni Basketball League that consists of former collegiate athletes, semi-pro, and overseas players. This year the Championship went to Carmen’s Crew (Ohio). Carmen’s Crew defeated Golden Eagles (Marquette) to win the Championship prize of $2 Million Dollars in Chicago, IL. @ the Wintrust Arena on August 6, 2019. Carmen’s Crew defeated last seasons champions, Overseas Elite (71-66) to advance to the Championship to play The Golden Eagles. During the championship game Carmen’s Crew leading scorer, David Lighty, scored 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead his team to victory.
I cannot forget about Team USA, who played five exhibition games and their record stands at 4-1. Team USA suffered their first loss in the FIBA World Cup Mens Basketball Game to Team Australia. Team Australia snapped a 78 game losing streak to Team USA. It was Team USA's first loss in the World Cup Game since the 2006 championship semi-final game vs Greece. That year, Team USA won the bronze in the FIBA World Cup Game. Some of USA team players are, Kemba Walker, Kyle Kuzma, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Myles Turner, and Jaylen Brown, to name a few.
Team USA has a few more games before they advance to the medal games. Team USA will play Sept. 1, 2019 vs Czech Republic in the FIBA World Cup Game @ 8:30am in China. The games will continue through Sept. 15, 2019. GO FOR THE GOLD TEAM USA!!!
Stay tuned for the USA WOMEN'S FIBA AMERICUP BASKETBALL GAMES. Games that begin Sept. 22, 2019 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Gold Medal Game will be played on Sept. 29, 2019. Some of the USA Women's team players are: Sue Bird {Seattle Storm), Tina Charles (New York Liberty), Elena DelleDonne (Washington Mystics). GO FOR THE GOLD TEAM USA!!!
The Philadelphia Phillies, known as the "Fighting Phils" are not having such a great season in 2019, their record since Sept. 1st, 2019 is 69-65, although they are in third place in the NL East, even with the acquisition of the 330 Million dollar man, Bryce Harper. As you know, the Philly fans always let their teams know when they are not satisfied with game performance. In recent news, Pinch-hitter, Sean Rodriguez, expressed his dissatisfaction with Philly fans, who Boo when the Phillies are not playing well. Rodriguez referred to those fans are "entitled," which did not go well with the Philly fans who decided to show Rodriguez how they felt by Booing him. Doesn't he know that every player in Philly has to have touch skin with Philly fans? We are die hard and want to win, even though we know in sports, there are no guarantees. Our Boo's serve to motivate players to get us that "W." Keep Fighting Phils! Swing, Batter, Batter. Click to watch the video
