NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS MONTH
Kneeling Protestors

December is National Human Rights Awareness Month

This month, we focus on the wellness part of our health by encouraging everyone to come together and stand up for equality, justice, and dignity for all humans.  Human rights are fundamental rights and the freedoms that every human being is entitled to.

It is important to treat everyone with kindness, respect and dignity, despite age, race, gender, or socio-economic status.   This month and every month thereafter, take the time to learn different cultures in addition to embracing your own culture.

Human rights are not something that we should be made aware of for just one month.  Human rights should be embraced and practiced every day.  Human Rights Day is observed on December 10th, but we should continue in the celebration throughout the month of December and beyond.   The 10th of December is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of human rights and the need for global solidarity.  So, this month and every month, stand up for Human Rights.  Stand against classism, racism, social and racial injustice, gender bias, and inequalities.  We are ALL human, and deserve to be treated as such.  Human rights are not privileges, they are our inalienable rights.
