This month, we support and celebrate the Love Exquisite Arts and Recreation Nonprofit (L.E.A.R.N.) Center in the Love Exquisite Magazine.  The L.E.A.R.N. Center is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in Philadelphia, PA with the mission of providing low income youth and adults with access and opportunities to engage in violence intervention workshops and recreational activities that promote and foster, self-love, self-worth, self-efficacy, and self-discipline in an effort to reduce and eliminate gun violence in the city of Philadelphia.  Servicing North and West Philadelphia, the L.E.A.R.N. was nominated for the Metro Philly Best Award in 2021 and the nonprofit received a generous grant funding from the Black Community Leaders Fund through the Philadelphia Foundation.  More recently the organization was approved by PCCD's School Safety and Security Committee to receive grant funding in 2023 to go towards designated L.E.A.R.N. Center programming in collaboration with several mission aligned partnerships.

 

From providing digital literacy courses, the annual interactively engaging empowerment symposium, a night out with the Sixers, painting with a purpose, sports programming, safe space circles, motivational speaking engagements, spoken word creative expression activities, summer community events, where over 70 participants were served, and so much more to come (based on grant funding allocation and partnerships), the Founder and Executive Director of the L.E.A.R.N. Center, (and our own) Lynnette Clement, the Beauty and Brains behind the operation, continues to "move the needle" in her efforts to make this world a much better place to live, love, learn, and grow.  She cannot do this alone.  It takes collaboration, community involvement, and support from all of you.  Lynnette didn't want me to put her picture as this month's feature on the cover nor inside the magazine.  She also didn't want me to talk about her specifically, instead she humbly asked that the focus be on the upcoming fundraiser this month to support the violence intervention workshops and activities of the L.E.A.R.N. Center.

 

We hope that you will join us in support of the fundraiser for the L.E.A.R.N. Center on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 5pm-9pm at Chipotle on Temple University Campus at 1100 W.
