EMPOWERING MOMENT
WORD OF THE MONTH:

POSITIVITY

The Empowering Word of the Month for March 2022 is, Positivity.  In a world full of negativity, let’s focus on being positive and stay focused on positivity.  Keeping a positive mindset in the face of adversity is not always easy.  We have to train our brain to control our thoughts and emotions, despite what goes on around us.  Sometimes, this requires us to meditate, pray, and state positive daily affirmations.  Even when things do not go as planned, we have to learn how to focus on the positive things.  We have to protect our mental space and what we allow to feed our thoughts and spirit.  Broken people will try to break you, by the words that they say to you and by their actions (the way they treat you).  Despite what happens in life, you have to remain positive.

Based on what is happening in your life, some people will want you to think negative or assume that you are sad or stressed about negative situations that might occur.  However, when you have a strong faith in knowing that God is working everything out in Your favor, to His glory, you KNOW how to remain positive.  Positivity creates joy and happiness, while negativity creates sadness and depression.  You have to want to be happy and joyful, instead of being sad and depressed, to be able to find the positive in a negative situation.  If you find yourself having difficulty with positivity, below are some suggested steps that you can follow to develop and keep a positive mindset:

-Practice gratitude daily.

-Surround yourself with positive people.

-Read positive affirmations daily.

-Identify areas of negativity, so that you can remove those things from your life, when possible.

-Meditate and pray for peace of mind.

Positivity releases you from “stinking thinking,” and being impacted by the things that negative people do.  You have to be mindful of what type of people you allow in your life and how those people impact your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.  You have to make the sometimes, difficult decision to remove yourself from negative situations and from negative people.   I read a quote that was so profound, it states, “What God wants for your life and what you put up with are two different things.”  You do not have to associate yourself with negative people.  Do not feel guilty when you have to walk away from negative people.  Pray for them and hopefully one day, your positivity will be so infectious that they will become positive too.
