NATIONAL MINORITY MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

Man and woman meditating

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, also known as BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month.  This is the time to pay attention to how you are feeling internally and externally.   In June 2008, Bebe Moore Campbell coined National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, which  was created to bring awareness to the unique struggles that underrepresented groups face in regard to mental illness in the United States.

Make sure that you take care of yourself, this month and every month.   Go to get your physical examination, seek professional counseling, if you need to, treat yourself to something nice, take a break to do nothing, turn off your cell, tv, and social media, read a book, meditate, focus on God, eat healthy, live healthy, eliminate the stressors in your life, organize your house and work space to remove clutter, and/or take a long drive or walk.  Pay attention to your mental health, it's important and you are too!
