FOODIES & FAMILY FUN
SOUL FOOD

As you can see by other editions of the Love Exquisite Magazine, we like to offer you quick and convenient recipes that you can enjoy with your family or yourself.  This month, we focus on Soul Food.  Soul food is also known as southern food/cuisine, which usually consists of a variety of foods with lots of flavor and is often fried (but not always).  Soul food is like comfort food, because it goes directly to the reward center.  It consists of an array of seasonings on dishes like fried chicken, fried fish, chitterlings, baked macaroni and cheese, collard greens, candid yams (sweet potatoes), barbeque ribs,  smothered pork chops, to name a few, soul food is sure to please your palette.

In our January edition, we are sharing  with you 28 soul food recipes that we researched on the https://www.tasteofhome.com/collection/soul-food-recipes/ website.  There are recipes for dishes like peach cobbler, chicken and okra gumbo, coconut bourbon sweet potatoes, shrimp and grits and more.  Try these recipes at home with your loved ones and enjoy!  As with all foods, make sure that you consult with your physician and/or nutritionist if you have any dietary restrictions.
