This month, we are delighted to feature two amazing people, Chris Clark, Jr, and Dr. Myava Clark in the September 2024 issue of the Love Exquisite Magazine.

Chris Clark Jr. is the son of Dr.  Myava Clark.  He has an entrepreneurial spirit and is best known for Co-founding CASEN (Collaborative Advancement for Social-Emotional Needs) LLC. Chris began his career as Co-founder and president due to his dedication to helping children avoid the pitfalls he went through growing up.  Chris came up with an idea to develop a tool that would help children with learning differences and unique abilities feel safe on social media, without fear of being laughed at, picked on, or bullied. His dream was to develop a social media website and application that would support children to be successful in the modern world of social media.

Chris’ entrepreneurial journey began when he approached his mother, Dr. Myava Clark, with an idea that would bridge the gap between the social-emotional learning children are taught in school to applying it to their everyday lives through different social media platforms.

Dr. Clark agreed to help Chris with his dream and they Co-founded CASEN. Since then, they have successfully created CASEN Outreach, CASEN Education Social Network Wellness Academy, CASEN Connect, and CASEN Parents. Not only does Chris believe that children should have good skills for participating on social media, but he also believes that children should develop skills that will allow them to have social wellness in general. This is provided through CASEN Education Social Network Wellness Academy, where children can take courses like Social-Emotional Development, Bullying Identification, Mental Health Development, and Social Media Readiness.

Through CASEN Outreach, Chris has spoken on multiple occasions to the youth about a myriad of topics that includes: online bullying, digital footprints, and social media readiness, to name a few.  Chris is not just a business-minded individual, he is a fervent believer that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and that no child needs to be the victim of bullying.  This passion manifests in his commitment to empowering children to become self-confident and skilled with tools to speak up and advocate for themselves.

His self-efficacy can be credited to his mother,

Dr. Myava Clark.  Dr. Clark began her higher educational journey at Millersville University, and later earned PhD in Professional Studies specializing in Higher Education and Leadership & Administration.   She is a wife and mother of two children. Dr. Clark began her career as a respiratory therapy clinician before dedicating her life to advocating for families of children with learning differences. She navigated different aspects of the respiratory care profession, including being a respiratory therapist for both adults and pediatrics, a laboratory specialist, a clinical instructor, and a college professor. Dr. Clark, is the program director for a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy program at a prominent University.

As Dr. Clark delved into her respiratory therapy career, she developed a passion for helping children and parents based on her own experiences with her children, who both had various challenges growing up. Dr. Clark became an advocate for children and parents after she maneuvered the special education system with her son, Chris. Based on these personal experiences, she was able to turn pain into passion and give meaning to the experiences that they encountered. As co-founder of CASEN (Collaborative Advancement for Social-Emotional Needs) she teaches children 9-13 years of age (focusing on children with learning differences and unique abilities) how to be safe online.

Dr. Clark is also a best-selling author. Her first book, "Help! Support for Parents of Children with Learning and Thinking Differences To Feel Confident, Capable, and Fulfilled," draws from her experiences as a parent of a child with learning differences and underscores the importance of encouraging readers to choose a path of confidence, capability, and fulfillment. She co-authored four books, including, The Parent and Caregiver’s Guide: Overcoming the Odds of Disabilities, Medical Challenges, Mental Health Disorders, and Trauma. Dr. Clark is about to release another book titled Levels of Faith: Faith for One Season May Be Different Than Faith for Another Season.

Dr. Clark is a leader and huge advocate, and voice for those often left unheard in the traditional educational narrative.  We are delighted to honor and celebrate Chris Clark, Jr. and Dr. Myava Clark in the September 2024 issue of the Love Exquisite Magazine!  Please support their fundraiser for Keeping Kids Safe Online: The CASEN Connect Initiative by visiting: http://kck.st/4d3Udmd. You can watch the video linked here to learn how the CASEN Connect platform works.  For more information about their organization, visit: https://casenllc.com/.
