TBT 3 ON 3 
 

Congratulations to the TBT 2021 Champions, Trilogy, coached by former NBA Player Stephen Jackson.  Jarrett Jack, Amir Johnson, James White, Devin Sweetney, and Isaiah Brisco played for Team Trilogy.  Team Trilogy defeated Team 3 Headed Monsters with a score of 50-45.  Jarrett Jack score the game winning 3 point shot to close it out!!!!

PHILADELPHIA 76’ERS
 

The 76’ers will begin their pre-season game versus Toronto Raptors on Monday, October 4, 2021.  The team will be without Ben Simmons who reportedly told several sources that he will never wear a Sixer’s uniform again. I don’t think anyone will be that upset due to his lack luster 2020 season, to say the least. Ben also wishes to be traded immediately.  I believe that it is time for The Sixer’s and Ben to move forward.  I wish Ben Simmons the best wherever he lands.

The 2021-2022 NBA All-Star Game will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sunday February, 2022, at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
 

WNBA
 

The WNBA is in Round 2 of the playoffs.  Phoenix Mercury defeated N.Y. Liberty in Round 1 of the playoff tournament, to move on to play Seattle Storm in Round 2.  The winner of that game will advance to the semi-finals best out of five series against Las Vegas.

Chicago defeated Dallas in the first round, to advance to round two to play Minnesota. The winner will advance to the semi-finals to play the best of five series against the Connecticut Sun.
 

The Semi-Finals BEST OUT OF FIVE SERIES started September 28, 2021 and will run through October 8, 2021.  More details can be found on the ESPN website linked here:

The Philadelphia Flyers will open their season on September 28, 2021 versus The Islanders. The team will be missing several key players due to injury.
 

(RW) Zayde Wisdom (shoulder) out until January

(LW) Samuel Morin (underwent knee surgery on 9/1/21)

(RW) Wade Allison (right ankle sprain) out indefinitely

(C) Kevin Hayes (underwent abdominal surgery) out 6-8 weeks

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Welcome 2021-2022 Philadelphia Eagles!!!!  The Eagles opened up pre-season with a loss to The Pittsburgh Steelers 24-16.  In the second pre-season game, the Birds were SHUT OUT by the New England Patriots.  In the third pre-season game, The Eagles tied with the worst team, The Jets, 31-31. The Pre-season Eagles had no wins, 2 losses and one tie.

The Eagles won in their first regular season game against The Atlanta Falcons, 36-2.  During the team’s second regular season game with The San Fran 49’ers, the Eagles suffered a great loss, with a season ending Achilles injury to Brandon Graham, and the game with a score of 17-11.  The team must work through the kinks and get on track. Even with the loss of Brandon, the Eagles have some depth on the defensive line such as, Javon Hargrave, Derrick Bennett, and Joseph Sweat. Zack Ertz returned to practice after Covid protocol to play in the Eagles vs Dallas game September 27, 2021 for Monday Night Football.  Needless to say, that game was a true upset for Eagles fans. The Eagles loss the game 21-41.  Hurts cannot be another Wentz, who holds on to the football too long.  The Eagles really have to step in up, if they want to win another championship.  Let's just say, Dak is back!  Let’s pray that everyone else remain healthy and Covid Free for a successful season.  It would really be nice to make it to post season.

The Philadelphia Phillies are currently in 2nd place in the Eastern Conference, two games behind the Atlanta Braves.  If the team remains healthy and consistent we have the opportunity to make it into post season.  The team record is 81 wins and 74 losses.

Last month, the Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort fight was an upset for Holyfield fans.  Holyfield, was originally scheduled to fight Mike Tyson, however, for reasons unknown that fight was cancelled and another fighter, Belfort was scheduled to replace Tyson.  My sister was confident that Holyfield would definitely win the fight.  However, in a first round knock-out, Belfort won the fight.  Holyfield looked like he was physically fit but unsteady on his feet at age 58.  Well, maybe now Tyson will take on Holyfield again after all. However, it might not be a good idea for Holyfield, after being taken out in the first round by Belfort.

On October 9, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada The rematch between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will finally take place.  The fight was officially scheduled to take place on July 24, 2021, but two weeks before the fight, Fury and his team contracted Covid and the fight had to be rescheduled.  Wilder has to prove himself after losing to Fury convincingly during their last fight.  Both men have unfinished business.
