EMPOWERING MOMENT
WORD OF THE MONTH:

HOPE
Love Poster

The Empowering Word of the Month for June 2022 is, Hope.

In a world that is constantly changing, life is full of uncertainties.  In a world full of chaos and violence, it could make you become hopeless when trying to think about a better future.  Some of life's challenges can be quite scary, because we cannot predict the outcome.  Despite how good our intentions are or how hard we work, nothing is guaranteed.  Sometimes, we are challenged with the complex task of having to do everything on our own.  It is a good thing to be able to handle the responsibilities that come with everyday living.  However, I must admit that things are less challenging when you have help and support from someone working towards the same goal.  When you don't have help, the weight of responsibilities can get really heavy.  In the heaviness, it can be easy to lose hope in your ability to accomplish your goals, personally and professionally.

In trying times, you have to do a bit of reflection and find strength in knowing that where you are today is the answer to at least one of your prayers.  If you are not where you want to be in life, at least you are not at the same place you used to be.  Don't lose hope, because you have come way too far to give up now.  You may not be where you want to be, but be honest with yourself, you are not where you used to be.  God can change your situation from good to bad, bad to good, bad to worst, and from better to best.  Every life experience is a teachable moment to learn and grow from.

If you lose hope, you cannot grow.  If you don't learn from life lessons, you cannot grow and God has more to teach you.  If you don't get the lesson the first time, God will certainly give you an even harder lesson to learn.  He will stretch you out of your comfort zone, so that you are stronger and wiser.  So, don't lose hope, no matter how far you are stretched.  Within your comfort zone, there are no challenges, and without challenges you can never develop or build resilience, wisdom, and character.  So, as you navigate through life, do it with the hope that things will get better, even if you believe you are already at your best.

If you have already lost hope, pray about your reasoning.  Even if you are not a spiritual person who believes in anything, believe in yourself and never give up on you.  The mind is a powerful tool, so what you tell yourself about your capabilities and abilities will either leave you hopeless or hopeful.  Even if it doesn't look like it today, your life will get better; hold on to that with hope.

To help you be more hopeful, start a journal and write down where you want to be in life, spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally.  After you write down the answers, give yourself a timeline to achieve your goals and track your progress (allowing some flexibility for interruptions).  No matter what, do not abandon your goals.  Work hard towards being where you want to be in life and don't lose hope.  Sometimes, you may have to let go of something that is never going to work and rethink strategically about an alternative plan that is more feasible and realistic.  Remember, it is you and God who control your life and you can achieve almost anything that you put your heart, mind and body to work for.  Never lose hope in that fact.  Remember, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen."

To have hope, you must first have Faith.  Just remember that, "Faith without Works is dead."  I believe in you and God believes in you, but that is not enough.  Do you believe in you?  YOU have to believe in YOU.  You are not your mistakes and you are not the mistakes that others deflectively cast upon you.  You are awesome and capable of achieving great things and your dreams do not have an expiration date.  Don't die as a dreamer.  Turn your dreams into achievements.  Achieve what you want to achieve in life.  Have hope that your better days are coming.  You are not hopeless!  You are hopeful! Do the work so that you can stay hopeful.  Never lose hope.

To help you stay hopeful write down these questions and answer them with honesty:

1. What current state am I in now spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally?

2. Where do I want to be spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally?

3.  What do I need to do to achieve where I want to be spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally.?

Then, consistently do the necessary work that will be required of you to never lose hope.
