HEALTHY BOUNDARIES
In relationships, some people believe that there should not be any boundaries. Some view boundaries as control or restrictions. However, there are healthy boundaries that should be established in every relationship. The boundaries are non-negotiables. The healthy boundaries that you set in your relationship, should be communicated to your partner during your courtship, where the foundation of your relationship begins.
The healthy boundaries should be realistic expectations on what you are willing to accept and what you are not willing to accept. Physical, mental, emotional, and sexual abuse are healthy boundaries to establish when communicating about what you will not accept. There should also be healthy boundaries about how you communicate with your partner. You should also have healthy boundaries about sexual behaviors and intimacy within your relationship. Time and priorities are also important topics that should be in the conversation that couples should discuss in their relationship as well.
These things are important to the happiness and longevity of the relationship. So, make sure you Clarify roles within your relationship and be clear on what you need from each other to be happy and fulfilled within your relationship. Keep in mind that consistently holding your mate accountable for staying within those healthy boundaries, can build stronger, healthier, and more fulfilling relationships. Don't be afraid to set healthy boundaries in your relationship. The both of you deserve to be happy, whole, and content.
