EMPOWERING MOMENT

DECISIONS

The Empowering Word of the Month for June is DECISIONS

Every decision we make in life has either a positive or negative impact.  The outcome of a decision is sometimes predicated on making the right or wrong choices.  It is so important that we take our decision-making process seriously.  What we eat, who we hang around, who we date or marry, how we dress, what we do, what we say, what we believe, and how we conduct ourselves is so important.  God gives us free will to choose every decision that we make.  We have to make sure that we think critically about the possible outcomes of our decisions.  We do not always make the right or best decisions for our lives, especially when we are in our younger years.

We have to allow ourselves room to make mistakes, however, we must learn from every mistake we make, so that we know not to repeat the same mistakes. When you know better, you are supposed to do better.

Our choices can lead us down the right life path or the wrong life path.  Sometimes, decisions are made for you that you do not have control over; in those instances, we have to learn how to pivot and shift from the wrong path to the right path for you.  An unfamiliar path, does not always mean that it is the wrong path.  Your conscience and spirit of discernment will help you determine if the path you are taking is right or wrong.  You have to ask yourself, How does it feel to be on the path that I am currently on in life?  If your answer is, it doesn’t feel good.  Then, it is to your benefit and advantage to create a new path, so you do not waste anymore of your time on the wrong path in life.

Let being honest with yourself lead the way to taking the right path.  Being honest about where you are in life and what you are experiencing, as well as how you truly feel about it will have you make the best choices that can help your life get better for you.  Sometimes, the decisions that we have to make are tough and scary, because a lot of us fear the unknown. Stepping out of your comfort zone is a choice that you might have to make in life to get to where you want to be in life.

I challenge you to reflect on the decisions that you have made in your life and how they have impacted where you are now, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally.  Did you make the right choices?  It is not too late to turn your life around by making better decisions.  Think about what you can do differently today to make your life better.  Think about how you can forgive yourself for the mistakes you’ve made and move from victim to victor.  Forgive people who have wronged you or have been influential in changing the trajectory of your life in a negative way, so that you can heal and move forward in a better way. Your decisions are important, because they can either destroy your life or help you live a more fulfilling life, full of promise and hope.  Whatever decisions you make in life, think about them first, before you do something that you cannot undo.
