LYNNETTE CLEMENT
This month we celebrate Lynnette Clement, our creative director, chief editor of the Love Exquisite Magazine, who is also a program director, professor, author, actress, radio co-host on the Real Recognize Real Talk Radio Show, which airs live every 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm EDT on Philly Hott Radio’s YouTube channel, entrepreneur, Love Exquisite, LLC, Christian, single, African-American female from Philadelphia, Pa. Lynnette grew up in North Philadelphia, where some people teach you that where you are economically is where you will always be. Lynnette never believed in that theory. She was raised by a single mother as well as her mothers’ mother (Grandmom Mody), who instilled in her resilience, which helped her to create and embrace her motto, “Always find a way, to find a way.” Words that she continues to live by, although at times, she didn’t always see a way clearly. Lynnette has worked in various roles since the age of 14 and everything that she has, she had to work hard for. This is what helped her become more appreciative of what she has today. She never wanted to attend college and attended some of the worst and lowest performing public schools in Philadelphia. Although, Lynnette was an above average student in those academic settings, she wasn’t as passionate about education like she is today. She realized that most schools prepare people to be good employees who works for someone else, but does not prepare you to be your own boss through entrepreneurship. She was always a leader and not a follower, so it is not surprising that in high school, she received the “Most Likely to Succeed” Award. She is proof that you do not have to be a product of your environment.
When Lynnette accepted Christ in 1999, her path in life began to change. She was hired at a University in 1999 and encouraged by her boss to pursue a college education, especially because it was free. The idea of free was more appealing to her than the idea of getting an education. So, she decided to enroll to take advantage of the free tuition opportunity and to her surprise she enjoyed the college learning experience more than she thought she would. Having matured and being focused, she learned to value education and why it is important to the black community for upward mobility to be college educated and she went on to earn her Bachelors as well as Masters’ degrees and also some Certificates in post-grad school. Lynnette is a lifelong learner, who continuously looks for professional development opportunities, because she believes that there is always something new to learn. I often hear her say, “Looking back over my life, my economics, and all that I have been through, the many people who told me that I couldn’t, you could not pay me to believe that I would have went to college, graduated, and now teach diverse learners at the college level, own my own home, car, have my own business, overcome many obstacles, being an exception to the stereotypical rule that you are a product of your environment, and breaking out of my shyness to get out of my own way and finally do me, to God be the glory. Gods will, Gods way.” She is truly an inspiration.
Lynnette enjoys traveling, spending time with loved ones, singing at karaoke, watching boxing, learning new things, acting, writing, and helping people achieve personal and professional success. She is an attractive, hardworking, passionate, humorous, intelligent, caring, woman who found it not robbery to share with the world a free online magazine, Love Exquisite Magazine, where she highlights everyday people, whom the world might not yet know, but that are doing great things as a productive member of society. If you are a reader of our magazine, you also know that Lynnette and our wonderful volunteer contributors share so much more of their time working on the magazine in effort to help people deal with life challenges effectively, stay in the know about various current events, sports, and trends, stay motivated and encouraged, as well as become their best self. Lynnette is passionate about helping people be and do better, so much so that she was inspired to write the book, Cheaters Never Win: How to Stop Cheating in Any Relationship or Never Start, which is out now on Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Lulu.com and most online book retailers. It is a book that captures the essence and importance of self-evaluation, self-love, self-control, selfless decision making, and figuring out your why of behaviors and learning how to redirect negative energy to positive energy. She doesn’t do all of this for herself, if it were only for herself, she would keep it to herself. She shares all of what she knows with us, so that all of us collectively can be and do better for the betterment of the society in which we live. Sharing her accomplishment might come across to some like bragging, however, it is not. She is a private person, so we are sharing a little bit about how her test became her testimony. She gives us truth, light, love and hope. This month, we honor, thank, and celebrate you, Lynnette. Thank You!
