CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NCAA DIVISION II MEN’S 2021 CHAMPIONS, NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE!!!
 

#2 Northwest Missouri State defeated #1 West Texas A&M, 80-54 to win the DII Men’s Basketball National Championship on Saturday, March 27, 2021.  This is the 2nd   consecutive National title for the Bearcats and their third National title in five years.  GO BEARCATS!!!!!!!
 

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NCAA DIVISION II WOMEN’S 2021 CHAMPIONS, LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN!!!!!!!!
 

#1 Lubbock Christian defeated #3 Drury, 69-59 to win the DII Women’s Basketball National Championship on Friday, March 26, 2021. This is their 2nd consecutive national championship and their third title since joining DII in 2016.  Lubbock also finished their season undefeated at 23-0.  GO, LADY CHAPS!!!!!

NBA BASKETBALL

The Philadelphia 76ers continue to lead the Eastern Conference with a record of 33 wins and 14 losses. The 76ers traded Terrance Ferguson, Tony Bradley, and Vincent Poirier and three future second round picks for veteran Point Guard George Hill.  Hill is coming from the Milwaukee Bucks averaging 11.8 points per game and 3.1 assists per game.  The 76ers also received Iggy Brazdeikis from the New York Knicks in the three-way trade deal.
 

Sunday, March 7, 2021, the NBA ALLSTAR GAME, both Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons did not participate in the game as scheduled, due to COVID-19 contact tracing.  Both Joel and Ben visited the same barber in Philly, prior to the All Star Game.
 

Team LeBron defeated Team Durant 170-150 in the 2021 All Star Game.  Lebron is not only a basketball player, he is now part owner of the Boston Red Sox.
 

Yanis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks won the ALLSTAR MVP Trophy.
 

Steph Curry from the L. A. Warriors won the Three Point Shooting Contest in the 2021 All Star Game.

Anfernee Simons from The Portland Trailblazers won the 2021 All Star Dunk Contest.

 

THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

The Eagles finally traded Carson Wentz for a 2021 third round draft pick and a conditional 2022 second round pick that could turn into a first rounder.  The Indianapolis Colts acquired Carson Wentz and Carson bid a farewell to Philadelphia and the Eagles.  Carson spent five years with the team. He went from a former MVP candidate to a backup QB.
 

Jalen Hurts will become starting Quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.  Eagles have acquired Veteran Quarterback Joe Flacco as backup quarterback and potential mentor for Jalen.  Flacco comes to Philadelphia signing a one-year deal worth 3.5 million guaranteed with the opportunity to earn 4 million more in incentives.  Flacco has a wealth of experience coming from the New York Jets, replacing injured Quarterback Sam Darnold.

Flacco led the 2012 Baltimore Ravens to Win the Superbowl XLVII Championship, and he was named MVP. WELCOME AND LET’S GO, FLACCO!!!!!!!

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS

The Philadelphia Flyers are ranked 5th in the Eastern Division with 16 wins and 13 losses.  Since returning to the ice after the pre-covid lockdown, the Flyers have struggled to win a game, which has certainly derailed the Flyers and fans momentum.  The team has already begun planning for the off season. The team needs a full overhaul.  Tear down and rebuild!!  LET’S GO 2022 FLYERS!!!!!

BOXING

On May 29, 2021,  Boxers Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield could return to the ring in a fight that will definitely be one to watch on Triller.  These boxers could earn a potential $200 million payout.  When they fought each other back in 1996 Holyfield won in the 11th round.  In the rematch in 1997, Tyson was disqualified after biting a piece of Holyfield’s ear off during the fight.  They are still in negotiations, so we shall see, if the fight actually takes place.        
                    

IN OTHER SPORTS NEWS

Speedy recovery for Golf Pro Tiger Woods!! Tiger returned home to his South Florida estate to continue his recovery from the serious leg injuries he sustained in a car crash in Southern California on February 23, 2021. Tiger’s SUV hit a curb and rolled over.  He had to be extricated from the car.  Tiger had multiple open fractures to his lower right leg.  He had a rod placed in his tibia and screws and pins inserted in his foot and ankle during emergency surgery.  Tiger still has a long way to recover but his spirits are up and he is hopeful he will  become stronger every day.
