Dionne "Queen DMC" McCray is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a child, Dionne has always been a lover of theatre.  She has over ten years of experience in television and radio production.  Her recent credits include, being the creator and host of Thoughtful Thursday, Talk About It Tuesdays, and her new talk show, The Gathering Place, which is on several platforms.  The Gathering Place is for creatives and businesses from all over Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.  Dionne uses her platforms as a way to promote positive vibes and give each other support along life's journey.

 

Dionne is an actress, writer, director, talk show creator and host, model and entrepreneur.  In 2019, as a part of Philadelphia Theatre Week, Dionne served as the writer, director and star actress in her first short play titled, "Next Chapter," which was a part of the five shorts project theater edition. Dionne is extremely creative and is always looking for ways to explore her creativity.  She refers to herself as "a serial entrepreneur," and has a clothing line where she designs t-shirts, masks, and expects to expand into other creative areas soon. 

 

Dionne enjoys living life to the fullest and does whatever she can to help others enjoy life as well.  She also enjoys performing on stage  and has been involved in several different festivals such as: Bridge PHL Theater Festival for the Adaptation of Trojan Women, Scranton Theater Festival with The Collective Mic Productions for My Sisters Keeper, as well as the Philadelphia Fringe Theater Festival with Group Therapy through Run Boy Run Productions, to name a few.   When asked about her role as an actress, she states, "I am compelled by thoughtful, nuanced theatre in varied aesthetics.  I firmly believe in the transformative power of theatre as a social, political, emotional, and humanistic force."  I had the pleasure of working with Dionne on the set of the web series titled, The Man Code, and she is such a pleasure to work with. 

 

Dionne loves to laugh and she makes others laugh as well.  She is a bold, charismatic, natural beauty who doesn't put limits on herself; she is also a model and activist for organizations promoting empowerment and equality.  She lives by the mantra, "Happiness is not a goal... it's a product of a life well lived" and she does just that, live well.  If you are interested in being a guest on the Gathering Place, you can contact and follow Dionne on Instagram at queendmc01 and queendmcnetwork1.
