EMPOWERING MOMENT
WORD OF THE MONTH:
JOY

Joy is the Word of the Month for June. Joy is a mindset full of undisturbed peace, love and tranquility. It rests within the soul and mind and cannot be disturbed.  Joy is long-term and dwells within your core being, despite what is going on around you.  This is why it is better to be full of joy, than to just be happy.  Happiness is good, however, it is temporary and based upon the condition of your state of mind at the time of an event, situation or circumstance. Happiness is controlled by others, but joy is controlled by you.  Joy is a deeper level of optimistic inspiration.  Happiness is surface level motivation inspired by life events.  Joy is unwavering and happiness is wavering.

Choose Joy over happiness.

For some people, something good has to be happening to or for them in effort for them to be happy. When something bad happens, they are no longer happy.  However, when you are full of joy, nothing has to be happening for you to still possess joy and even when something bad happens you are still joyful.  This statement in a familiar song, "This joy that I have, the world didn't give it to me and the world can't take it away," is so true. Nothing and no one can take away your joy, because you control it.

To find your joy means to find your inner peace.  Joy, is to find what truly makes you happy internally, in spite of what is going on externally. Joy, is to find what puts your mind at constant ease.  Joy, is to connect with your spirituality and your purpose in life.  Joy, is to rest assured that God is working everything out for your good and His glory.  Joy, is healing. I encourage you to find your joy today and embrace it.  When you find your joy, you will be so glad that you did.  May you learn to Rest there (in your Joy).

"For the Joy of the Lord, Is Your Strength." (Nehemiah 8:10).
