EMPOWERING MOMENT

UPLIFT

The Empowering word of the month for February 2023 is Uplift.

To uplift means to raise the level, to improve, lift to a higher position, and is something that makes a person feel more cheerful, positive, or optimistic. All of us can be uplifted by words, actions and deeds.  It is better to uplift than to tear people down. Instead of tearing people down, downgrading, or belittling people, uplift them.  Your words and actions have power.  Be mindful of what you say to people and how you treat yourself and others.   If you are someone who is mistreated, don't let the words, actions, thoughts and opinions of others dictate who you are.

If you don't have people around you who uplift you, surround yourself with a better circle of people.  If you cannot find people who uplift each other, uplift yourself. You should always be your biggest cheerleader.  Tell yourself how magnificent you are until you believe it.

Positive affirmations are a great way to uplift yourself and others.  Just as much as we like to hold each other accountable for mistakes, we should also have the same enthusiasm about giving people words of praise and gratitude when they do something positive.  Even if you are not where you want to be in life, you should be able to applaud those around you who are working hard to stay on the positive side of life.  Negative comments usually can either destroy a persons morale or propel them forward into greatness.

We have to be mindful of how, what, and when we uplift.  When we uplift poor behaviors, with attention, rewards, gifts, and positive feedback, we encourage the continuation of poor behavior and enable the person from doing and being better.  However, when we hold ourselves and others accountable for poor behaviors, by addressing what is or has occurred and how we really feel about it, we have the opportunity to evaluate the reason behind the behavior and work towards making a positive change worthy of uplifting.

We have to remember that even trash is recyclable.  So, don't let people tell you what you are going to "always be."  The devil is a liar!  Do not think that you cannot transition into a better version of yourself.  Yes, You can.  You are important.  You are loved.  You are wanted.  You are needed.  You are seen.  You are heard.  You are valuable.  You are intelligent.  You are beautiful.  You are enough.  You are worthy.  You are Gods chosen.  You can do and be better.  You matter.  Repeat those uplifting words to yourself everyday and tell someone else those words too.  Let's all be Uplifted.

I hope that the content that we share in the Love Exquisite Magazine each month Uplifts You.  What are you doing to Uplift yourself and others?
