FOR THE LOVE OF RELATIONSHIPS

HEALTHY

The best type of relationship to be in is a healthy one.  Healthy mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.   Physical attraction is important, but if the relationship is not healthy, the attraction usually goes away.  Money is important as well.  However, if the person you are with is financially stable, but the relationship is not healthy, no amount of money will sustain the relationship long-term.  It takes more than just one thing to keep a relationship afloat.

A healthy relationship is one that is caring, loving, nurturing, supportive, trustworthy, respectful, compassionate, affectionate, honest, adoration, committed, authentic, clean, drama-free, sensually satisfying, reliable, a good level of trust, aligned, togetherness, has a mutual regard for one another, motivating, mentally mature, reassuring, and demonstrates the use of effective communication.

Relationships can sometimes feel like a comfortable place, especially if you have been in the relationship for a long period of time.

However, don’t confuse comfortable or familiar with healthy.  Relationships require a lot of hard work and a dedication to the other person to help make it work long-term.  Sharing the same or similar relationship goals and values will help to fuel what you do with your partner.  There is no such thing as a perfect relationship, but there is such a thing as a healthy one.  I don’t know about you; I don’t just want to be in a relationship for the sake of not being alone.  I don’t want Any relationship; I want a Healthy relationship.

If your relationship is not healthy, you can try to practice the characteristics listed above in the first paragraph.  This must be a mutual effort implemented by both people in the relationship, determined to help make the relationship work.
