Philadelphia, home of "Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection"........and home of some of the BEST food places in the U.S.....yes, we said it!  There are several places to eat and drink in Philly that are amazing.  In this issue, we are focusing on three of those places that you want to visit.

Bookers Restaurant and Bar - 5021 Baltimore Avenue, Philadelphia, PA

Owner, Saba Tedla, former owner of Aksum Café opened up a restaurant, “Bookers,” known for its “Southern Flare with a Modern Twist,” in the Southwest/University City section of Philadelphia.  The cozy atmosphere, intimate bar setting and delicious culinary cuisine makes Bookers one of the good finds for foodies in the City. Their crab cake is phenomenal.  They also have vegan food options.  Some evenings, they also have live entertainment.  Make sure you stop by for some southern food, whenever you’re in Philly.

Soulfed Philly “Krabbing With Kingz” just opened up at a new location at 64th & Castor Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.  Soulfed Philly is a family owned business that consists of cousins and brothers.  Home of some of the best seafood that I’ve ever tasted and I guess I’m not alone in that sentiment, because the lines are usually around the corner.  The new location offers a lounge area with amble seating and delectable delights of Alaskan, snow, king and Dungeness crab legs, shrimp, mussels, and more.   Check out their new location, trust me, you will not be disappointment!   Philly is known for making the best Cheesesteaks, but have you tasted the Seafood Cheesesteak?

Tashia’s Cocktails and Cuisine – 1641 W. Hunting Avenue, Philadelphia, PA
Tashia’s Cocktails and Cuisine is a family owned business and you feel the love in the atmosphere, every time you enter the spot.  A cozy spot settled in the Hunting Park section of Germantown, where it is always Your Birthday (even if it isn’t).   The bartenders fix up the best cocktails in the City and the food is so good, it taste like it’s something right out of a gourmet kitchen.  The shrimp are my favorite! Each weekday there is a special from either $1.00 shrimp night, $ .50 wing night, discounts on platters, to happy hour specials.  In 2018, “Tashia’s” was the PHL 17 winner of the best chicken wings, happy hour, and best cocktails in the Germantown/Hunting Park area and they are nominated again in 2019 (time to vote).
