This month we highlight, celebrate, and honor the first family, Larry, Paris and Langston Rodgers in the November 2022 issue of the Love Exquisite Magazine.  Larry, Paris, and Langston, a.k.a. "Rev. Ruffus Wit Da Golden Toothfess," "Peaches," and "Lil Ruffus Jr. Jr. II," are the multi-talented First Family of Christian Arts, Business and Entertainment. Larry is a talented comedian, reverend, music artist, and author who toured the world and performed on nationally televised shows with mega rap star MC Hammer.  He also appeared as the second black ranger on the hit television show, “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.”   Larry also recorded eight gospel hip-hop CDs on his record label, ForWord Records.  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, Paris and Langston and also performs stand-up comedy.  His keen sense of humor keeps the audience engaged and laughing.  

 

Paris is a beautiful, talented, wife and mother who is passionate about performing arts.  She started in the performing arts in elementary school and continued throughout her years in college and beyond.  She studied ballet, violin and piano.  Paris is a renaissance woman who sings, dances, and is also an actress.  Her acting credits include performing in the production of “The Wiz,” “Bubbling Brown Sugar,” and “Purlie Victorious.”  She also started modeling professionally while in high school.  She shares the same humorous spirit with her son and husband, when playing the comedic role of, Peaches. It is a joy and inspiration to watch the three of them work together on one accord and harmony.

 

Langston, the son of Larry and Paris is a natural performer gifted by God.  He enjoys singing, acting, dancing, writing and drawing. Langston is also an actor who was featured in several national commercials, Inspire Sleep Apnea, Bank of America, Jackbox Games, and How To Train Your Dragon. His first feature film role was in the movie, "The Rite of Passage."  He is also a series regular in Disney Pixar Cars, which airs on the Disney Pixar YouTube channel.  Langston acquired his sense of humor from his parents and adds to their comedic role, as Lil Rev. Ruffus Jr. Jr. II.  He has a smile that brightens up any room and is a young man with a lot of personality.  

 

Last month, Larry, Paris, and Langston was on the Real Recognize Real Talk Radio Show, promoting their new book, “Family That Prays Together, Succeeds Together,” which is published on their Christian book publishing company, ForWord Books.  They discussed that their book is a 200-page journal that is, "Designed to emphasize the importance of prayer in a family dynamic, and how writing their prayers down can inspire them to pursue their purpose and succeed in life."  I purchased the prayer journal, because for the past year I have been struggling with staying focused during prayer and this book has already helped me to concentrate while praying and make time for prayer and God.  

 

The Langston's continue to work diligently on other projects and are working on a new movie, “Shake Em' Off Like A Boss,” produced by their company, ForWord Motion Pictures.  They are also working on new books, “From The Street, To The Stage, In The Sanctuary” (Larry Rodgers), “A Proverbs 31 Women's Journal” (Paris Rodgers), and “Langston, The Lightning Boy” (Langston Rodgers), published by ForWord Books.  Langston is also working on his debut single, a remake of the classic Motown hit song by The Jackson 5, “With A Child’s Heart” to be published on ForWord Records.

 

With all of that on their plates, God is also using them to pastor the ForWord Christian Church in Torrance, CA. It is no surprise that God is at the forefront of everything that they do.  Larry, Paris, and Langston want to pray for blessings and miracles to be bestowed upon the lives of everyone worldwide. They’re on an ordained mission by God to inspire families to use the power of prayer to succeed in every area of abundant life such as: a relationship with God, unconditional love, mental health, physical fitness, prosperity, healing, unity, and uncompromising holiness. Their motto is “Always remember that the most important things in life are God, Family, Friends, Learning, Food, and Fun." The Langston's are a true testament that no matter what you may have experienced in life, if you submit to doing His Will, God can still use you for your Good and His Glory.
