LEARNING BY DESIGN

In life, we encounter all types of tests.  How we handle the tests usually determines the trajectory of our lives, dependent on the type of test we encounter.  We are tested in many ways.  Most of the time, we are tested to determine how prepared we are for the next test.  If we rush through the test, we might miss valuable lessons.  If we avoid the test, we could delay the natural progression of our life.  If we do well on the test, we can progress to the next level in life.

Tests can come from different situations in life.  God can test us to determine our faith, as well as whether or not we will choose to do good versus evil.  We can be tested on our jobs by either a drug test, a test for qualifications, or tested by other employees or customers who test our patience and professionalism.  We're tested in our friendships, by how supportive, patient, and kind we are to our friends, which helps us determine how good or bad of a friend we are, as well as informs us of who our true friends really are. We are also tested in our families, by how connected we are to one another or how disconnected we are from one another.

Our aptitude and attitude towards learning are tested in school.  We are also tested in our relationships; our values, compassion, and commitment are tested through our communication and interactions with one another.  As you can see by now, there are many tests; most of which are pass or fail.  Sometimes, we pass the test and sometimes we fail the test.  Nevertheless, even if you fail the test, that does not mean that you are a failure.  It means that you have an opportunity to learn from what you are being tested on.

We should approach every test with the mindset to put in 100% effort to pass the tests that we encounter, because sometimes you don't get an opportunity for a make-up exam. All of us are tested in some way.  Think about how you are being tested and ask yourself, "Am I doing my best to pass the test?"  And, think about what you can do better, because You will be tested.
